About Us

The Model Railroad Club, Inc. is one of the largest model railroad clubs in the North America.  Through a unique arrangement with the Union County (NJ) Department of Parks and Recreation, the Club designed, financed and built a nearly 11,000 square-foot facility on a piece of land in Lenape Park, in Union Township.  Club members did nearly all of the work.  The building, which has been expanded several times, is actually owned by Union County.  The Club's arrangement with the county allows it to occupy the building and build and operate model railroads and related displays.  The Club operates and maintains the facility and is open to the public at specific times. New members are always welcome.

The Club houses two permanent model railroad layouts in HO scale and N scale.  There is also a outdoor "G gauge" (garden railroad) demonstration loop, and a temporary indoor "G gauge" layout.  Other model railroad and industrial exhibits are also on display.
